UNDRR Trainer Certificate Course
As the high density of population and highly concentrated of industries and infrastructures, which will lead to a great impact while facing stresses and shocks. When it comes to resilience and adaptation to climate change and hazards, it’s crucial to build a city with the capacity to respond to the risks.
The series of capacity building workshops were to support cities in Taiwan and East Asia in connecting with frameworks, tools and knowledge regarding building urban resilience from UN and global. UNISDR’s (now renamed UNDRR) tool, “Disaster resilience scorecard for cities”, structured around the “Ten Essentials for Making Cities Resilient” was introduced to the workshop to prompt city officials and citizens to identify and evaluate city hazards or risks based on potential risk scenarios. These enable to localize the knowledge and practices, to accelerate the improvement of infrastructure and policies that have enough resilience to respond to disasters.
